random thoughts on life and spirituality

We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us. -Paul's First letter to the Thessalonians (2:8)

Low Lifes

OK, maybe I'm wrong here, but I hate being spammed on my blog. I refuse to go to the website as a matter of principle, but with "waltertaft35040581 said...
i thought your blog was cool and i think you may like this cool Website. now just Click Here" I can only assume that it's SPAM...or whatever you call SPAM on a blog...

Is this enterprising or annoying? BTW, I also refuse to click on pop-ups for the same reason.

Back in da 'burgh

Being back in Pittsburgh is proving to be quite a trip down memory lane. I've been back 3 times since since spending 4 years living here while going to Pitt. But this time I'm in Monroeville, east of pgh. A lot of memories here:

1. riding the bus here with Greg Budman and Joe Plouse our first few weeks of school--some funnny people made the trip worthwhile

2. getting an oil change here across from the Boston Market in which I just ate--met a guy who was from India and had to rent a u-haul to meet his father in DC when his dad was in the states because no car company would rent to someone under 25

3. my accident in D's car shortly after becoming a follower of Christ

I'm looking forward to the seminar tomorrow. I enjoy teaching seminars and helping people master the basics of youth ministry--even though that chapter in my life has closed. I am a little bummed that I missed the "Night at the Orchards" in Magnolia tonight--a private apple festival.

..as I type, an ad on TV is selling the DVD Bible...Bible on DVD...hmmm....audible and visual...

I'm back...

OK, blogging has been a little rough lately. I had a paper due...and of course my usual hectic life continues. No excuses will do any good...besides, Paul & D are the only 2 people who even read this, and...I'm not sure D does...

The yavillage.com site is now up and running. Yeah, we could've dropped 10G on a really hip site, but I like what the volunteers have come up with...the lack of pretensions really fits who we are. I hope and pray that it'll be the resource we want it to be.

That said...now people may actually come to my blog...so I'd better blog away...
